The catawba worms are frozen and must remain that way. part of the cost of shipping is the materials used to package the catalpa worms to include a climate-controlled box with freeze packs. The worms must be received and removed by a person and put into a freezer immediately. If they are set outside for any length of time they will thaw, turning a brownish color.
